Battle Ground Levy

Proposition No. 10 asks voters in Battle Ground School District No. 119 to approve a Replacement of the Expired Student Educational Programs and Operations Levy, which provides essential funding for day-to-day school services not fully funded by the State of Washington.
What the Levy Does
This levy continues, not increases, the district’s existing EP&O (Educational Programs & Operations) levy that expires at the end of 2026. It funds critical services such as:

  • Student safety
  • Smaller class sizes
  • Special education
  • Teachers, nurses, and mental-health supports
  • Career readiness programs
  • Sports and extracurricular activities

SB 5112 - AN ACT Relating to establishing a prescribing psychologist 2 certification in Washington state

SB 5112 would allow specially trained psychologists in Washington State to prescribe certain mental health medications. The bill creates a certification process to ensure psychologists receive advanced training and oversight before prescribing. Supporters say this would improve access to mental health care, especially in underserved and rural communities, while maintaining strong safety standards. To read the bill choose this link.

This resolution calls on Washington State leaders to codify into law and fully fund high-quality care and best practices for youth in the foster care system through age 26. With approximately 8,000 children in out-of-home care, foster youth face significantly higher risks of homelessness, lower graduation and college completion rates, mental health challenges, incarceration, and early pregnancy compared to their peers. By strengthening and fully funding long-term supports, this resolution seeks to improve outcomes, stability, and opportunity for foster youth as they transition into adulthood.

Resolution to Require Good Standing on Safety Record Prior to Bidding on Public Work Projects

This resolution urges Washington legislators to require contractors bidding on large public works projects ($500,000+) to have a clean safety record. Contractors would need to disclose three years of serious or willful safety violations, and those with three or more violations would be barred from bidding until they demonstrate improved safety performance. The goal is to protect workers, minors, and taxpayers by making safety a required part of public contracting.
