A Message from Candy

The race for 2020 has begun. At our May 20th meeting we endorsed our newest LD Candidates, Rick Bell (Senate against Ann Rivers) and Kassandra Bessert (State House, position 1 against Brandon Vick). We have requests for endorsements up and down the ballot. We expect a drop in by Congressman and candidate for Lt. Governor, Denny Heck and Commissioner of Public Lands, Hillary Franz, along with local candidates as we prepare to discuss additional 2020 endorsements.

We have a bylaw amendment to bring forward (LINK) that is required to allow us to apply for a raffle license to hold a raffle-type fundraiser. This amendment will designate where any treasury funds would go if this organization every closed down. It is just a book keeping item. The most recent suggestion is that funds would go to the state party. There are no plans to close the organization, but the state gambling commission needs to know that we won't make any illegal transfer of the funds if closing were to happen. Language for the bylaw and discussion will be presented at our June 17th meeting and voting on that amendment would take place at our July 15th meeting.

The election is in full swing I know you want to know how things will work this campaign season dealing with COVID19 and we need all hands on deck to make sure Democrats are elected in 2020. And most important - Please join us we miss seeing your faces.
